5 Years at DataDEV: Celebrating Dajana’s Journey of Growth, Learning, and Team Spirit

Work anniversaries are an opportunity to reflect on more than just time spent at a company — they highlight personal growth, professional development, and the relationships built along the way.

As Dajana celebrates five years at DataDEV, we wanted to take a moment to look back on her journey, experiences, and the lessons she has learned throughout her career with us. Over the years, she has been part of different projects, challenges, and team moments that have shaped both her professional path and her perspective on collaboration and innovation.

What would you say is the most valuable thing you’ve learned during your first five years at DataDEV?

One of the most valuable things I’ve learned is that real growth comes through practice and overcoming challenges. Working on a variety of projects taught me that high-quality results are rarely achieved overnight. Instead, success comes from combining technical knowledge with patience, persistence, and strong collaboration within a team. Over the years, I realized that every challenge presents an opportunity to learn something new and improve.
What is your favorite part of your job, and what do you find most challenging?
What I enjoy most about my work is seeing clear and tangible results from the effort I put in. Knowing that what I do serves a meaningful purpose and contributes to larger outcomes is what motivates me the most. At the same time, unfamiliar situations and new tasks can be challenging. However, I see these moments as opportunities for growth — experiences that push me forward both professionally and personally.

What advice would you give to yourself at the beginning of your career at DataDEV?

Looking back, I would tell myself to have more confidence and not overthink every detail. Starting a career often comes with uncertainty, but trusting the process makes everything easier. Patience, continuous learning, and believing in your own progress are, in my opinion, some of the most important things when building experience over time.
Which moment with your colleagues, whether a trip, celebration, or team gathering, will you remember forever, and why?
I will always remember our team gatherings and company trips because they gave us the opportunity to connect outside of everyday work tasks and strengthen relationships in a more relaxed environment. Those moments mean a lot to me because they reflect the positive atmosphere and strong sense of connection within the DataDEV team.

How would you describe the DataDEV team in one sentence or metaphor, and why?

I would describe the DataDEV team as a balanced and connected whole, a group where mutual respect, support, and collaboration are genuinely valued. I believe strong teamwork is one of the key reasons behind successful results, as shared dedication and open communication create an environment where everyone can contribute and grow.
How do you see the mobile mapping industry evolving over the next five years? Will automation and AI dominate, or will manual work still play a large role?
I believe automation and AI will continue to transform the mobile mapping industry, making many processes faster and more efficient. However, I also think that technology alone cannot replace human expertise. While AI can significantly improve workflows and data processing, human experience, decision-making, and professional judgment will remain essential in ensuring quality and accuracy.

Dajana’s five-year journey at DataDEV reflects the importance of growth through experience, teamwork, and continuous learning. Her perspective highlights how challenges can become opportunities, how collaboration strengthens results, and how professional development is shaped over time.

At DataDEV, anniversaries like this are a chance to celebrate not only years of dedication but also the people who contribute to our culture, innovation, and shared success.

Thank you, Dajana, for being part of the DataDEV journey and here’s to many more successful years ahead.
